What Happened to Chiptune?

Peter Swimm

Episode Summary

In this episode we speak to Peter Swimm, a musician, writer and event organizer who played a very important role within the NYC scene as one of the founders of Pulsewave and also the Blip Festival, two event series that set the tone for the US chiptune scene as they were some of the first regular chiptune events in the US. Peter also ran the site True Chip Till Death, which served as a chronicle of the chiptune scene for years, featuring reviews of new releases and events, interviews with members within the chiptune scene, an annual awards “show”, and updates about new hardware relevant to chiptune. Peter Swimm’s role in chiptune is vast and multifaceted, so it was great to be able to talk to him about his time in the scene.
